Per VA DMV, all Teenagers (Under 18)
MUST complete 30hrs of Drivers Education (Classroom or Online) in order to receive their
Driver education programs are available statewide to students, adults and out-of-school youths
Driver training schools follow course content approved by VA Department of Education and are
licensed by VA DMV.
The curriculum includes components about alcohol safety, drug abuse awareness, aggressive driving,
distracted driving, driving emergencies, pedestrian & bicycle safety, motorcycle awareness, organ
donation awareness and auto insurance info, etc.
Accelerated, Flexible Schedule
Engaging and Interactive – When students are sitting in their training, they can be engaged with
activities, open dialogue, and interactions with the instructor and other students.
Adaptability – When the Instructor can see and evaluate their students in real-time, they have the
opportunity to adapt their curriculum accordingly.
Open Dialogue – Instructors can leverage student questions to ensure they are retaining
information. Students have access to their instructors for immediate feedback.
Building a Network – By providing an environment for a group of people to learn together, you give
them the opportunity to interact, build relationships, and grow as a team.
Distraction-Free Environment – Students are focused on this one particular course and its
material. They also are accountable for their work and assignments as guided by the instructor.

Per the VA DMV: If the driver training school who provides classroom instruction is also providing
behind-the-wheel instruction, the classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction may be done simultaneously!
For all Teens (Under 18) in Planning District 8, as part of the Driver
Education curriculum, you must complete a mandatory one-time, 90 Minute Parent/Teen Class (per the

Some of our instructors are active and retired police officers, with numerous years of extensive
training and experience in traffic law enforcement, emergency driving methods, collision
investigation and traffic court proceedings.
All of our instructors have many years of driving instruction experience, given professional
training and are educated college graduates. They have also received specialized collegiate level
training in Drivers Education.
In addition, all are licensed as Driver Training Instructors by the Virginia Department of Motor
Vehicles (DMV), certified by American Automobile Association (AAA) and National Safety Council
All of our instructors get their
fingerprints done every year and are subject to annual national Federal Bureau of Investigations
(FBI) background checks and DMV driving record audits.
